A delight for connoisseurs
Lamb is ever increasing in popularity. Although in earlier times it was primarily older rams which were used for cheap stews, lamb comes exclusively today from animals which are not more than 12 months old.

These animals known as fattening lambs have already grazed on for several months on uncontaminated meadows. They provide a full-flavoured salmon coloured meat of the highest quality with a particularly aromatic fragrance.

Animals of less than 6 months of age are supplied as “sucking lambs". They are slaughtered at the age of three to six months. Since sucking lambs do not go out to pasture yet, their light, pale pink coloured meat is of a particularly tender consistency and very mild flavoured. The fat is pure white.

Farmer's – our name for quality lamb
KURTH lamb specialities come from New Zealand and Uruguay. Under the name "Farmer's", we offer New Zealand lamb. Healthy animals grow up there under optimum conditions in clean air, radiant sunshine and in a temperature climate, which go to make our lamb what it is: something very special!
